Williamsburg Celebrates Plein air painting
This Saturday, Sept 21st, there will be a Quick Draw in Colonial Williamsburg on "Dog Street" (Merchants Square) that will take place from 10am until 5 pm. I am happy to say that I have been invited to this wonderful event. Along with the Quick Draw, over the past couple of weeks, the month of September, the invited artist have been painting the area. Those paintings will hang in the Bruton Parish Church Hall, 331 Duke of Glouchester St, for viewing.
So come on out tomorrow morning and watch an artist doing what he loves to do!
here are my paintings of the area that will be on view at Bruton Parish Church Hall

Summer Heat!
Hi Guys,
I hope summer has been busy and productive for everyone!
I have been busy painting and exploring my 3 color palet scheme as always. I really do love the restricted palet. It's quite liberating pushing and exploring color to achieve an accurate balance with in each painting.
On a lighter note I do want to mention my recent activities at Blue Skies Gallery, here in Hampton. I did a Large Demo for the girls and if your interested in the painting contact Leslie at the gallery! She'd love to hear from you. Here is the painting....
Also other paintings that I have been working on since last time I posted on here!
Have a great rest of your summer!
Paint on!

Are you driven by the smell of Roses
When I am out painting in the field I often realize how many people just drive by beautiful everyday paintable journeys,or "spots" I call them, and they never really realize what is in their own backyards. Life being an artist is really about stopping and smelling the roses. If you don't stop and absorb what we have around us, how can we really appreciate what we have? Have you ever smelled a rose and not gotten this clean pure tranquil smell? I ALWAYS smell that smell after every time I have painted! It may sound funny, heck it sounds funny to me while writing this...but,
I use that as my sign of if the painting is done or not. Why do you think I smell it?
